Call for Nominations for Board of Directors Candidates

Three members of ITLS’ Board of Directors will be elected in 2007 during the annual conference in San Antonio.  If you would like to contribute to the success of ITLS, or know of a colleague who would make an excellent Board member, now is the time to consider making a nomination.

The ITLS Nominating Committee is seeking suggestions for the three open Board positions in 2007.  Board members whose terms are expiring this year are incumbents:

Amy Boise, NREMT-P (Arizona)
Tony Connelly, BSc., Sr. Para., (Alberta)
Pete Gianas, MD (Florida)

The term of office is three years, and there are no limits on the number of terms a Board member may serve.  The criteria used for Board nominations are:

1. The candidate should be an active and dependable member of ITLS.
2. The candidate should have the support of his or her chapter.
3. The candidate should be experienced in teaching or coordinating ITLS courses.
4. The candidate should be supportive of a consensus-building process.
5. The Board should be comprised of members who represent various geographic areas, rather than be clustered in one section of the U.S.
6. The Board should be comprised of members who represent the various professions that teach and coordinate ITLS programs.

To make a nomination for any of the positions, a letter explaining the nominee’s qualifications with a copy of his or her CV (limited to two pages), and the Board application form should be sent to Ginny Kennedy Palys at ginnykp@itrauma.org.  The Nominating Committee will accept suggestions until July 1, 2007.
