Call for Nominations
7/14/2006

In 2006, the ITLS chapter delegates will elect three (3) members of the organization’s Board of Directors and Speaker and Vice Speaker during the  International Trauma Conference in Boston.

Board of Directors

Three positions will be elected to the ITLS Board of Directors by the chapter delegates.  The ITLS Nominating Committee is seeking suggestions for
nominations.

Board members whose terms are expiring this year are incumbents:

Walter Bradley, MD, MBA, FACEP (Illinois)
Martin Friedberg, MD, CCFP(EM)  (Ontario)
William Pfeifer III, MD, FACS  (Colorado)

The term of office is three years, and there are no limits on the number of terms a Board member may serve.  The criteria used for Board nominations are:

1. The candidate should be an active and dependable member of ITLS.
2. The candidate should have the support of his or her chapter.
3. The candidate should be experienced in teaching or coordinating ITLS courses.
4. The candidate should be supportive of a consensus-building process.
5. The Board should be comprised of members who represent various geographic areas, rather than be clustered in one section of the U.S.
6. The Board should be comprised of members who represent the various professions that teach and coordinate ITLS programs.

Speaker and Vice Speaker

Both the Congress Speaker and Vice Speaker will be elected by the delegates in November.

The Speaker chairs the business session of the conference and is assisted by the Vice Speaker.

The current Speaker is Vickey Lewis, RN (North Carolina) and the Vice Speaker is William Moore, MD, FACEP (Texas).  Both are eligible for re-election.

To make a nomination for any of the positions, a letter explaining the nominee’s qualifications with a copy of his or her CV should be sent to Ginny Kennedy Palys ay ginnykp@itrauma.org.  The Nominating Committee will accept suggestions until August 7.
